PUERTO LÓPEZ.– Manabí Province north of Guayaquil, there is a very busy village with a population of 15,000 inhabitants. The outstanding Machalilla National Park is found a few minutes from this village, is the nearest town of any size. This Park holds various attractions: Isla de la Plata off the coast of Puerto López, los Frailes Beach among the most visited areas of the region. From June to September approximately 150 whales arrive from the Antarctica in search of warm water to mate and Puerto López offers boat rides, snorkelling at beatiful beaches. It sounds definitely a good place to relax before going back home. |
