SALINAS

The most luxurius accommodations are found on the beach of Salinas, 570km. West of Quito (353 miles). Salinas (salt mines) got its name because salt used to be extracted from Santa Elena Península. The board walk of Salinas offers lots of entertainment day and night, close to Salinas there is paradise for surfing (Montañita).

At the top of the Peninsula of Santa Elena is the ideal site for the practice of the nautical sports: diving, beach volleyball, jet ski, deep fishing. Beach of hot sands that run toward the Pier, zone of sale of handicrafts that they contrast with the state of the art of the most modern buildings and condominiums.
Salinas is called this way because salt is extracted from the region. This site is a corridor for migratory birds and marine species. It is a favorite vacation spot for people from Guayaquil.
